Tigges Farm will have pumpkins available for customers in limited quantity around the produce and gift shop farm stand and around the close by equipment displays. We were limited to planting just three short rows (instead of fields) of pumpkins that are on a drip line because of lack of rain and irrigation water this year. Not enough water to plant the big fields of pumpkins for you to hunt for pumpkins this year. Weather rules. All the drip line pumpkins planted are also baking pumpkins in colors (orange, yellow, white, pink pumpkins) so keep your pumpkin in a cool place when you take it home. Instead of carving, paint your pumpkin and bake pumpkin cookies or pie after Halloween. You don’t need a lot of pumpkins to make the most of them. Let’s make the limited quantity of pumpkins stretch as far as possible to make a lot of kiddo’s happy. A few on the porch this year for everyone and get a wagon load NEXT YEAR!. Pink Pumpkins, regardless of size will have $1.00 added to the price that will be donated to “Hope Lives” a non-profit supporting breast cancer patients of Larimer and Weld Counties. https://www.hopelives.org/ CAPTURE THE FALL SEASON Bring your camera as there are lots of picture places. Many high school graduation and family pictures are taken at the farm. FIELD TRIPS Field trips for Schools, Child Care Centers and Adult Day Care Centers need to be scheduled in advance. Youth, School & Child Care Field Trip Letter In place of the pumpkin hunt in the field, will be a program on the Legend of the Jack O Lantern, which began as a turnip. A storybook about the Enormous Turnip will be read. Teachers and Child Care Centers can find school worksheets online about The Enormous Turnip, storybook. The activity will be painting a miniature pumpkin with marking pens. We hope you will “TURN-UP”for the “TURNIP” this year! Field trips are on Thursdays and Fridays only! Pull up the letter for details and schedule early. COMPANY/BUSINESS DAYS Company customer or employee appreciation days may be scheduled for Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun in August and September and October. Text 970-576-8970. Ask for Kathy. Event Center can be used as part of the trip for a meeting place, refreshments or for any other extra things planned by the business or group. Coupons can be given by company toward farm purchases in the amount determined by the company. Go to the Events and Activities to see what days would be of greater entertainment for clientele.
