Fall Season "October Weekend" Events
Pumpkin Patch is Open - Sept 26
(maybe & Oct 2, for sure) - Oct 31, 10 am - 6pm
We planted white, blue, pink, yellow and, of course, lots of orange pumpkins. We
hope the weeds don't get ahead of the pumpkins like last year. We never know
which will win the race to kiss the sunshine first. Once the pumpkins vine we can't
weed anymore because if you step on a vine you kill the pumpkins started on it.
Conestoga Wagon Ride - Every weekend in October, 1-4pm.
Sponsored by Tigges Farm.
Hop on and take a tour of the farm on a Conestoga wagon pulled by Percherom
draft horses. Please tell the driver "thank you and tipping is encouraged."

Unicorn Visit - October 11-12 Only 1-4 pm.
Sponsored by Colorado Costume Castle, Greeley (a costume resource for schools and
community theater only) The unicorn is actually a Percheron draft horse, (in unicorn
costume, of course), that loves to be petted and have it picture taken with customers.

October 25, 26, 10 am-4pm - Pumpkin Chuckin'
Meet Team “Two Buck Chuck” and their powerhouse pumpkin-chunkin’ trebuchet! Originally built in 2018 for
national competitions in Aurora, CO, the machine was designed by Preston Fayas and Alex Houchens using the
classic trebuchet concept: a massive counterweight bucket on one end and a sling on the other to launch
pumpkins sky-high. Over time, the team has upgraded the design—tweaking geometry for greater distance and
even adding elastic bands to boost the counterweight,
creating a trebuchet/catapult hybrid. Preston, a local
mortgage lender originally from Green Bay, WI now living in
Johnstown, teamed up with Alex, a Greeley-raised welder and
mechanical engineer now residing in Hudson. The name “Two
Buck Chuck” came from the humble beginnings of their first
machine, which was built mostly from scraps with only about
$200 invested—“two bucks” as they joked. Today, their
towering contraption stands 27 feet tall when extended and
has launched pumpkins an impressive 875 feet—nearly three
football fields!
Farm Closes 6pm - October 31, 2025
